I'm told that they use a German sidearm because Britain no longer manufactures rifles for its own, the Royal Armory

doesn't manufacture for its own troops. Is it in a position to send troops to Ukraine? And what is

the general opinion of the military by the young men and women who would ordinarily be part of it?

Well, I think that the military is viewed highly on an individual basis.

So if you meet a soldier in a bar or a coffee shop, you'll have great respect for them.
