Today we'll be talking about the recent one-year anniversary of the Uber crash in

Tempe, Arizona that claimed the life of a pedestrian and one year later still has big implications for

the autonomous vehicle industry. And then we'll talk to Claudia Lofridge, a dealer in

Atlanta who participated in the shift event we held at the Porsche Experience

Center in March.

But first, Pete, let's talk a little bit about that anniversary.

Elaine Herzburg passed away March 18th, 2018,

when she was crossing a street in Tempe, Arizona, right?

She was with her bike.

It was night and she had the unfortunate luck of crossing in front of a Uber self-driving car that was being tested.

And then what happened next?

So what happened next was that Uber's software classified her as a bike as an unidentified object

a full six seconds prior to impact and yet the in an emergency scenario

their brakes do not activate in the

Uber self-driving test regime it's dependent on a human safety driver to to break in

an emergency scenario.

And usually they used to have two human safety drivers, right?
