I'm Alexandra Addison Rogge, and for this week's podcast, we're listening in on Gord McKechnie's

presentation at the Trace Forum in Annapolis.

Gord is the executive president of Canadian Banknote and a longtime friend of Trace.

He addresses the current state of U.S.-Canada relations, including the long-standing foundation and current trends.

First of all, I should probably tell you a little bit about Canadian banknote.

The name is a bit of a misnomer.

We do still print all of Canada's banknotes, but we're a much more diversified company.

We've been trace members for quite a long time.

I joined the company when it had no compliance and no legal department.

We were about 100 million Canadian dollars at the time. We're five times

that size and growing rapidly now. And I do give a lot of the credit for that growth to this

organization. I'm rather proud, and it probably fits with the topic, that it was the brainchild of a

Canadian, Alexandra, that got this organization going.

And I think what you just saw was an example of

how this is really the best bang for the buck

in compliance in the world.

I never miss an opportunity to sing its praises.

And there's no one in our company and we're

about 2,200 people now who doesn't know Trace and doesn't recognize that Trace

played a role in allowing us to become a really truly multinational company from a
