I am Karen Hunter.

And in this space, you have heard me talk with Tyler Merritt, who is the author of I Take My Coffee Black, A Door Made for Me in his latest book,

This Changes Everything, A Surprising, Funny Story about race, cancer, faith, and other things we don't talk about.

I've had him in this space where we did three thoughtful questions,

but I recently had him on my radio show on Sirius XM and he was discussing

his journey battling cancer. Many of you know people who have battled cancer. Some of you

are battling an illness and this man every day walks around with a tumor that was not

inoperable. He's walking around with a tumor that was so big that they couldn't take it all out the first time. So he has to go back every couple of years to have more of this tumor excised. And it is cancerous. It's a slow moving cancer. But every day he gets up and he lives. And the last conversation we had was so inspirational

that I thought it would be a nice thing to share here.

So up next, my conversation with Tyler Merritt.
