Yeah, this is the first time in even the same virtual space for ages. Yeah, thank you very much,

Martin and Jim for joining. And well, I'm sure this is widely known.

Most people will know that Jim and Martin are two of the authors of the Agile Manifesto, which is kind of turning 20 years old this year. So why don't we start there? So many people tell the history and talk about the manifesto, but here's an opportunity to hear it from you so I I won't resist

asking the silly question what's the Agile Manifesto and how did you come to being can you

talk a little bit about the meeting and and some of its history well I'll start off I'll

start off with being Jim meeting I was asked to me and Jim meeting.

I was asked to, and Jim obviously as well, to go to this conference thing going on in New Zealand

in the late 90s.

And so I slugged it all the way down.

It's that my first trip down to the Antipodes to Wellington, New Zealand.

She's a really lovely little city in New

Zealand. And I knew of one of the other headline speakers that was Steve McConnell, whose books I was

familiar with. But I didn't know Jim Highsmith at all. I don't think I'd even come across you

at this point. And I sat to be listening, and I think the talk was entitled to something like project management tips or whatever.

And I thought, oh, my God, this is going to be another crappy project management talk and project planning and all that kind of rubbish.
