A high stakes presidential debate, a hurricane warning in Louisiana, and a bag of

cheetos that caused chaos in a New Mexico cave. That's some of what we'll get to on the Seven from the Washington Post.

I'm Christina Quinn in for Hannah Jewel. It's Tuesday, September 10th.

Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories. Number one, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris

will debate in Philadelphia tonight. This will be your first and possibly

only chance to see the presidential candidates face off.

Their matchup started about seven weeks ago when President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

The stakes are high. Harris and Trump remained locked in an incredibly tight

contest and this debate comes just days before ballots are mailed out in some key

states. Democratic strategists say Vice President Harris's job in this

debate is pretty simple, even if it won't be easy. She needs to tell voters who

she is, what she stands for, and what kind of president she would be.

Republicans say Trump should avoid attacking Harris's race and gender, and that he needs to come

up with an answer on the issue of abortion.

The ABC News debate will be moderated by David Muir and

Lindsay Davis. It begins at 9 p.m. Eastern.

An Israeli strike killed dozens of people in Gaza this morning.

That's number two. The strike hit a tent encampment that Israeli forces had

designated a safe humanitarian zone.

According to Gaza officials, at least 40 people were killed and at least 60 others were injured.

Israel's military said the operation targeted a Hamas command and control center hidden in the area, but Hamas

denies that claim.
