Florida is bracing for one of the strongest hurricanes on record.

It's been less than two weeks since Hurricane Helene

pounded Florida's Gulf Coast.

But now an even bigger storm is threatening the same region.

Hurricane Milton explosively intensified yesterday from a category 1 to a strong category 5 storm.

It's set to make landfall tomorrow evening or Thursday morning, but forecasters aren't sure

exactly where.

It could hit the heavily populated Tampa Bay region.

That's one of the most vulnerable metropolitan areas in the U.S.

To dangerous storm surge.

Helene made landfall 100 miles north of Tampa Bay, and massive piles of debris from that

storm still lined some streets.

Jason Doherty is the Hillsborough County Fire Chief. He urged residents yesterday to evacuate before it's too late.

We ordered evacuations for zones A and B for a very good reason. If you remain there, you could die. My men and women could

die trying to rescue you. They are heroes, but please do not put them in that situation.
