Hey friends, Genesis 35 today as we continue our study of the movements of Jacob, he's been moving back home.

And this is a long process. We know that he was in Hei Ran with his family, all but his son, Benjamin, have already been born.

Benjamin's going to be born this chapter.

And they're making their way back.

He's met with Laban who chased him initially.

And then he met with Esau and that whole episode of forgiveness.

And now they've had this little problem in Shechem, especially with Simeon and Levi and the other brothers,

as they've taken vengeance upon the Shechemites. And now he needs to leave. And God is using

all of this providentially. He's not ordaining this, obviously. They made bad choices. But

Jacob had no business staying there. He had no

business intermarrying with those people and so now Jacob is making his way all the way back

home. Now it's not that Shechem is not part of the promised land indeed it is and it was

and it was the exact spot to which Abram had gone

nearest before and had built that altar. But Jacob is on the move, and where he goes next is

very, very significant. And I want you to see it. Genesis 35, verse 1, and God said unto Jacob, arise. So we can know that we're in the will of God
