The Vice Presidential debate is tonight.

Hurricane Helene's death toll keeps rising.

And Jimmy Carter is celebrating his 100th birthday.

Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Number one, the vice presidential nominees will clash in a debate tonight.

This will be their first and only debate.

Republican Senator JD Vance of Ohio and Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz, a Democrat,

will face off in person. And this could be the last debate before November's election.

Vance has the potential to be a polarizing figure.

He's one of the most unpopular vice presidential candidates

in modern history.

And he's caused controversy by denigrating quote childless cat ladies and

immigrants. As for Wals many voters just don't really know who he is. He'll have to

introduce himself and also hype up his running mate, Vice President

Kamala Harris, to undecided voters in key swing states.

The presidential race remains very close in all seven battleground states.

So the Anson Wall's will both hope they can make a difference.
