Hey, friends, it's me again here in the studio. Glad that you're joining us for another episode of Everyday Truth. In First Kings 17, talking about this widow woman whom God had commanded

to sustain Elijah.

An amazing, ironic story because the widow lives in the place where bail worship has its

headquarters.

She is not a Jewish woman.

She is a Sidonian. And Jesus makes that very case in Luke chapter 4

when he goes back to his hometown and preaches for the first time in his public ministry.

And the people wondered at his gracious words, the Bible says, in Luke chapter four. But somewhere in his sermon,

people began to question. Well, wait a minute. This is the carpenter son. We know him. We grew up with him.

How can he be the Messiah? And they demanded of him that he would show them a miracle. And that's when Jesus referenced the story, because Jesus

said there were many widows in Israel at the time of Elijah, but God did not send Elijah to one of those

widows. God sent Elijah to the widow of Zarifeth. And there were many lepers that had leprosy during the time of Elisha,

but God did not heal any of those lepers through Elishes' ministry, but the name and the leper.

And the whole point was that I'm not going to give you a miracle because you demand a miracle.
