Hey friends, welcome back to another episode of Everyday Truth. We are in First Kings chapter two,

kind of in a little bit of a depressing section because Solomon has become the king.

And anytime there's a change in power, we find this to be true in businesses, in churches,

in nations.

There always seems to be a little bit of unrest as people jockey for position or people maybe smell the weakness of an incoming king. We learned last episode that Adonijah should have left well enough alone. He should

have just stayed at his house and licked his wounds and decided that I'm never going to feed my unhealthy ambition again,

but none of that's true. And he deceives and plots and endeavors to try to overtake the kingdom again.

Solomon recognizes it and unfortunately for Adinja, he has executed.

Now, in verse 26, we find two other stories that we want to cover today, and two other

very sad cases.

Now, the Bible has already given us a foreshadow of the culpability of

these two men. For instance, back in verse 22, Solomon recognized that Adonijah's plot was

inclusive of A.B. A.thar, the priest, and Joab, the son of Ziruai. What is very sad about

that is that Adonijah was a son of David. So that's sad that David's own son would plot
