It's Tuesday, February 25th. Let's get you caught up with

today's seven stories. Number one, President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron

met in the Oval Office yesterday. The meeting came on the third anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and at a pivotal

moment for the relationship between Europe, Russia, and the U.S. At the United Nations yesterday,

the Trump administration sided with Russia and against Ukraine, voting to oppose a resolution

condemning Russia for its invasion. It was the most profound

split between the U.S. and its Western allies at the U.N. in decades, and it reflected what

appears to be a historic realignment between Washington and Moscow. Despite this, the meeting

between Macron and Trump was mostly friendly, at least in front of the cameras.

Macron did attempt to bend Trump back to the side of Ukraine in its war with Russia.

He offered a warning to Trump that Russian President Vladimir Putin could not be trusted.

He said that he had had extensive conversations with Putin ahead of Russia's 22 invasion of Ukraine.

The Trump administration told agencies that they can ignore Elon Musk's email order. That's number two.

Over the weekend, Musk said he'd effectively fire federal employees who don't

send in summaries of what they did at work last week. The billionaire Trump advisor has been on a

mission to slash the federal workforce. But his latest move is facing pushback from Trump's

own officials. Yesterday, the Office of Personnel Management tried to clarify things.
