Now here's today's episode.

So we're in Luke chapter one and we're talking about the coming of the Lord.

And remember as we talk about the coming of the Lord, we talked about the necessary forerunner,

the necessary announcement ahead of the announcement, and that is the

announcement to Zecharias and really to Elizabeth about the coming of their miraculous son,

John the Baptist. And that's where we are in verse 24 of Luke chapter 1, where the Bible says after those days,

his wife Elizabeth conceived and hid herself five months.

So she became pregnant and she kept it on the down low for five months. After that, it's pretty hard to fake it,

right, ladies? And verse 25, here's what she said. Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days

wherein he looked on me to take away my reproach among men.

And that's just kind of a heartwarming conclusion to this announcement phase to Zecharias and Elizabeth.

And that is, Elizabeth was so grateful that God had taken away that reproach.

Remember, back in Bible days, for a woman not to be able to have

children was a reproach. And people falsely assumed that that was the judgment of God upon a person.

And so the fact that Elizabeth now had a child, not only did it remove the reproach, but it also caused people to really perk up.
