Long slow emergency, of course, has been applied to fossil fuels quite a bit.

And it was a little bit more kind of in the mainstream nomenclature at the time that I did this episode.

The way this episode got into this series, as I decided while it was gone down in Bastrop,

since I was down there to teach about permaculture, I would leave you with a week of the best permaculture stuff that I had.

And my original plan was to give you four shows that were all interview shows,

But in doing some research for my presentation, my own past work, I came across this episode,

now this is a good one to lead off with.

And it was the statistic that I was looking for for my presentation that I'll be doing on Thursday in Bastrop this week.

It's the very definition of an unsustainable system.

An unsustainable system, I think almost everybody in the world from your eco hippie, to your scientist,

and everybody in the middle that even thought about the term unsustainable,

would agree that a system that you have to put more energy into than you will ever get out of it.
