This was Jeff Lawton on the Big Picture Problems and Solutions Permaculture.

This was one of the more fantastic interviews that I've done with Jeff in my years,

and that's saying something, and probably one of the more fantastic interviews I've done on permaculture as a whole,

which is also saying something given the quality of what you're hearing this week.

This is incredibly high-level discussion on what permaculture really is all about,

and how the thinking process and design process leads us to solutions to the problems that were flat out told,

we can't fix. These are just too big. The only solution is for you to have less.

That's the solution. You ever notice that? Did everything that they actually propose a solution to?

It involves you paying more money in taxes and having less in return for more of your money.

The money that they can print out will continuously devalue while you're holding it,

and yet pretty as much as they want for themselves. It's kind of strange, isn't it,

that the whole system works that way? See, you have to have less.

You have to starve. You have to pay more taxes. You have to eat the bugs, right?

And we can't possibly fix a problem like, oh, I don't know the droughts that continuously occur in California,

even though historically, if we go back before we screwed everything up, they won't really have a problem.

See, it's all the people in LA that make California have droughts.
