Thank you for connecting today. As we begin today's episode, I want you to consider something.

When were you first told to diet? Give yourself a few moments to kind of go back and connect with when you first learned

that you needed to eat less in order to be okay, to be acceptable, to be doing what you

need to do to take care of your body. I know for many of you listening,

this all began when you were 11, 12, 13. There's something about that age group that for many

listeners, maybe you. That's when the first diet happened. I have some guesses on why that

happens, but that'll be for another episode. I also know there's going to be some people who

maybe didn't start dieting until maybe this past year, maybe when they left home for the

first time. And I also know there's going to be a few listeners that started dieting

in preschool or kindergarten, because that's when their doctor told one of their caregivers to

start doing that. And having this experience early on, what ends up happening is you have lots of data. You have

lots of data then to know whether or not diets work for you. That's what this episode is all
