We begin with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's high-stakes visit to Washington today.

He's meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House alongside European leaders.

After his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last Friday,

Trump posted on

truth social that Zelensky must agree to some of Moscow's conditions for the war to end.

According to European officials, Putin is insisting that Ukraine give up its eastern Donbass

region, Crimea, which Russia illegally annexed in 2014, and agreed and never joined NATO. Zelensky is pushing for,

quote, reliable and lasting peace for his country in all of Europe, and has reiterated that Ukraine's

quote, borders must not be changed by force. Russia controls just over 18% of Ukraine. CNN spoke to

Ukrainian parliament member Helena Hanchenko ahead of the meeting.

I simply don't understand why President Trump is playing along with Putin,

with authoritarian leader who is losing this war, who has killed or wounded one million of Russian citizens to actually occupy another sovereign country

and kill civilians in the sovereign country, which is Ukraine.
