We'll also be discussing some unintended consequences of the TikTok ban,

how the use of artificial intelligence by police has led to wrongful arrests, the Senate confirmation hearings

of some of Trump's cabinet nominees, Trump's surprisingly high level of support in the

global south, and how the Mexican government is responding to Trump's plan to bomb the cartels.

Then we'll have a deep dive discussion about the new ceasefire agreement in Gaza and why it

alluded the Biden administration for so long. And after that, we'll be talking to our boss,

Robert Wright, about Trump's looming presidency and about artificial intelligence.

But now, to our newsbytes, what is the first story you want to talk about, Connor?

Yeah, so I wanted to lead off with some updates about the confirmation hearings of some members of Trump's incoming cabinet.

I'll start with Pete Hegseth, who is, of course, the nominee for Secretary of Defense.

He's a former soldier in the U.S. military, also Fox News host, who's had a certain relationship

with Trump in the last few years.

Most of the hearing really focused on some of his controversial views around the role of women in the military and in similar issues.
