President Donald Trump welcomed British Prime Minister Keir Starmour to the White House today.

Senior officials say they're discussing security guarantees for Ukraine as the U.S.

forges ahead on talks with Russia to end its three-year war there.

The talks come one day before Ukrainian President Volodymy Zelensky is said to meet with Trump to sign an agreement on natural resources.

A senior U.S. administration officials says the deal doesn't contain any commitments for

future American support to Kyiv. Trump has characterized the agreement as backpaid for

previous U.S. support to Ukraine.

The president said he's, quote, happy about the deal, although Zelensky has been more guarded,

describing the text as a quote, framework.

Workers with the United States Agency for International Development, either fired or placed on

administrative leave, are collecting their

belongings at headquarters in Washington, D.C. supporters outside the agency applauded their service.

According to the agency's website, workers were told to bring their own boxes, tape, and

containers to pack their stuff, and were given a set time to do so. One of those staffers is 25-year-old Julianne Alfin, who was participating in the Presidential

Management Fellows Program at USAID.
