Hi, from CNN. This is Madeline Thompson with five things you need to note for Friday, January 24th.

President Donald Trump is visiting Los Angeles for the second leg of his disaster recovery

tour after visiting North Carolina earlier today.

He's expected to take an aerial tour of some of the wildfire damage and participate in a

fire emergency briefing.

Shortly before he arrived, Trump said he'll be conditioning aid to California

by demanding the, quote, water to be released and by tying a voter ID requirement to federal aid.

It's the latest salvo in a feud over a voter ID ban signed last year by the state's Democratic

Governor Gavin Newsom and an unusual political demand for the president to make,

as it politicizes disaster relief in a state that's still reeling from the wildfires.

Southern California's recovery efforts could also be hindered by the prospect of mass deportations under President Trump.

Many of the workers needed to help rebuild the more than 12,000 structures

destroyed by the fires are undocumented immigrants. CNN, Samantha DeLuya, has more.

young Americans who are qualified to fill the construction jobs that will be necessary to rebuild

everything destroyed by the fires this month.
