There were wedding bells and colorful celebrations across Thailand this week.

Will you marry me? You know I will.

That was one of many happy couples who can now legally tie the knot.

On Thursday, Thailand became the first country in Southeast Asia to recognize marriage equality, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

One shopping mall in Bangkok, decorated with flags, flowers, and a rainbow carpet, even hosted

a mass wedding event.

And many of the hundreds who had their love officiated there felt that this was a huge step

forward for equality. The most important thing is that love is beautiful, regardless of gender.

No matter what gender someone identifies as, love is beautiful.

Everyone wants to experience good love.
