flummoxed slash fuming over the nat's first round draft pick you know when you're a washington

nationals fan all you have to look forward to is the future because the presence sucks.

A, you know, as I joked on Twitter, I don't know who the Nats can fire now as they keep losing.

It was a very disappointing three-game sweep to a very good Milwaukee Brewers team. Don't get me wrong.

But the thing I was looking

forward to, and many of us are looking forward to, was the draft. And I think directionally,

we were going to find out just where were the Nats headed? Were they going to draft one of these

sort of major league ready college pitchers so that they could maybe sign a free agent,

get this college pitcher ready, and maybe

start becoming a sneaky contender in 26 with this great young lineup that is starting to come

into shape, James Wood, Brady House, CJ Abrams, you suddenly have Gore and Irvin.

You could start to see the pieces put together.

And then what do the Nats do? They do something so Nats like. They, and look, I know the

baseball drafts complicated and there's this slot money and you have to, however money you

spend on your first round pick that impacts how much money you can spend on the rest of your

draft. Okay, I understand the analytics of it.

But guess what?

Does anybody in the Nats organization deserve the benefit of the doubt on any of this,

given how horribly this franchise has been run over the last five years?

Okay.
