Welcome to another episode of the Chuck Toddcast.

When we last met, all I had to look forward to was the home run derby.

I was sort of smarting still from the Nats draft.

I'm still smarting for this.

I know I know some of you seamheads will say, no, the slot money matter.

When you have the number one overall pick, don't give me any slot money crap.

Okay.

You are just sitting here trying to mask what the ownership has told this front office to do, which is to pinch pennies be as cheap as possible. And the most depressing

thing about the Nat strategy now is that it looks like they're not interested in contending the

rest of this decade. And that is what has made so many of us Nat's fans so depressed and angry

and all sorts of things. And then it's as if the Nat's pitching wasn't bad enough. We can't even do batting

practice pitching. Poor James Wood, I think he makes the top four. If he gets slightly better

pitches to hit, obviously he didn't have to swing at the bad pitches. But can I think about the last

pitch he got? It was like down in his ankles. And yeah, he didn't hit it as a

home run. And it would have been the one he would have needed because he, I think he would have

been in a tie with Raleigh and Rooker. He had the second longest home run after O'Neill Cruz.

And, you know, anyway, when you're a Nats fan these days, all you got is James Wood.

That's all we have, man.

And I just hope we don't do with him, with him, if you will, what we did with Juan Soto.
