My amazing friend Bruce who lives in New York releases a newsletter every Saturday called

Dinner Party Talk and he includes all sorts of content thoughts in that newsletter and he included in the spirit of Valentine's Day

a snippet this week based on love in the voices of children through the lens of children.

He said the answers warmed his heart,

maybe they'll warm yours too,

and I thought, I've got to read these they're so cute.

So a group of four to eight year olds were asked what does love mean?

I'm going to read you some of the answers and I'm going to tell you what my favorite one is and why.

This is Rebecca, age 8.

When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toes anymore,

so my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too.

Oh, Rebecca. Here's Billy age four.

When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.

You just know that your name is safe when they say it.

Oh, Billy.

Here's Carl age five.

Lovers when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.

I can see that, I can see that Carl.

Here's Chrissy, age six.

Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making

them give you any of theirs.
