Navarro retrieves the cremains of her sister, with the help of Rose buries her at sea.

While in the ice, she feels the same call that drove her mother and sister insane,

and almost falls into the ice before Rose is able to bring her back.

Later on, a child points at her triggering an intense

flashback of all the ghostly messages she's received this year. Chief Danvers is feeling the heat

as pressure from the mining company and the powerful

moneyed interest behind it seemed to be trying to shut her case down and obstruct

her investigation. She's forced to back off when Chief Connolly reveals that he

knows the truth of the Wheeler case. The Navarro and Danvers killed the man and staged it to look like a suicide.

Danvers' daughters rough experience at a mining protest and Navarro's passion and force of will cause Danvers to reconsider closing the case.

She decides to color outside the lines by kidnapping Otis Hice and providing him heroin in exchange

for a guided tour of Night Country.

Unfortunately, Hank, under orders of the mining company,

meets her at her house and murders heice.

The gunshots attract his son Peter,

before he is able to kill Danvers and stage the scene.

Hank then commits Patricide by cop when he attempts to shoot Danvers,

forcing Pete to kill him. of the dustiness of a looming shadow grow.
