Hello everybody welcome back to I guess this is a prestige podcast it might be a pulp

podcast too it might be all the feeds this is the annual Groundhog Day wrap-up podcast where Jim and I talk about our experiences spending 24 hours watching this year Spider-Man films and we talk about how much money we raised.

I'll get right to that.

We'll have Connor, our buddy from the Cure Als Fund,

here to formally accept it in a few minutes.

But before he gets here, we raised a grand total after we added up all

merch, all donations, and the bits and subscriptions and the stuff that trickled in in the last week.

37,608.50 cents.

Jim, do you recall our goal?

Do you recall our level of pessimism

of hitting that goal?

Well, in previous years, we always took

like the average of the total we made and set that as a goal. I think the year before was like

17,000 was our goal and we ended up getting 24. This year we were like you know what

forget the average let's go for broke let's set a

coal a 25,000 yeah because the thing is it's like you were like well that's only

a thousand dollars more than last year but that was after the bits and the merch and everything was totaled on like it was a lot closer to that in the actual getting the thermometer part and you know I'm always wondering like okay is was that a

really good year because we had you know house of the dragon and and also the last of us in the lead up so we had some you know some pretty big

rejuvenated audiences it's been a bit of a drought but the the the

Hollywood strike and whatnot so it felt risky and we smashed that goal by like six o'clock in a morning.
