Officer Navarro's sister Julia is increasingly hearing a spooky call that has her attempting to follow it out onto the ice and into the sea.

In this episode, she can no longer resist the urge and leaves a treatment facility to drown herself in the Arctic Ocean. The sins Navarro spiraling into violence and ultimately

fatalism, worrying that's only a matter of time before she too is forced to hear the same call.

Meanwhile, Chief Danvers is facing down her own down her own demons with the missing men and women under eerie

circumstances and the pressures of the case driving her to drink and

engage in self-destructive behavior. Both women are united once again with a hot

tip by the local fisherman that a strange man wearing a pink parka is seen at the abandoned

gold dredges on the outskirts of Venice.

Investigating the dredges, Danvers finds Otis

a man who Peter had previously identified

as suffering similar injuries over 20 years ago

as the men from the Salal Station, including burnt corneas, ruptured ear drums, and self-inflicted bite wounds.

His mind seems to be gone as all he can do is rave about the night country.

Navarro, however, finds disturbing visions of her dead sister,

and Danvers finds her by the end of the episode in a catatonic state

with blood trickling from her ears. From the dusty Dusty Nissan, her gloomy shadow grow.
