Welcome to One Minute Scripter Study, a Come Follow Me podcast.

0:05.0

We are your host, Kristen Walker Smith and Kelly Black.

0:10.1

Hey, friends, it's Kristen.

0:11.8

Now, I years and years ago worked with a wonderful Christian girl who couldn't understand our church's doctrine about separate kingdoms of glory.

0:19.6

And after trying unsuccessfully to explain

0:22.0

the purpose of separate kingdoms, I finally just asked her, would you be comfortable living in the

0:27.4

same eternal glory as Adam and Moses and Eve and Job and all your other Bible heroes if you

0:32.7

hadn't sacrificed the way they had? And she admitted that no, she wouldn't. A lot of people wonder why a loving

0:39.5

God would allow his children to hurt when they're trying to be good. The Lord said in Doctrine

0:44.7

and Covenants 136, verse 31, my people must be tried in all things that they may be prepared

0:51.4

0:55.4

And he that will not bear chastisement is not worthy of my kingdom. In other words, if we aren't willing to

1:01.8

1:07.5

willing to pay the price to become heaven-like. And even though we may not like it, trials are a part of that practice.

1:14.5

So the takeaway of the day in five words or less is, trials prepare us for heaven.

1:20.7

Thanks so much for being here today and for coming closer to Christ with me one minute at a time.

1:27.3

Friend, if you love this podcast, you are going to love this.

1:30.9

For the very first time, our one-minute scripture study book is going to include dates.

1:36.4

Yes, for 2026 as we dive into the Old Testament, every day is dated and it is spiral-bound.

1:43.5

It's going to be awesome. If you want to get the spiral

1:46.4

bound version, you're going to need to check out your Costco in Arizona, in Idaho, in Utah. If you

1:51.7

don't live in one of those places, grab a family member, have them get you a couple of them.
