Smith and Callie Black. Hey, it's Callie Black here with today's thought. Let's open up to Doctrine

0:11.9

and Covenants section 135 verse 6. My kids will never know the sacrifices I've had to make for their

well-being. And you know what? That's okay.

I don't understand all of the intricacies of what my own parents did day in and day out to

0:28.3

provide the life that I had. And when I think about my spiritual heritage, all 16 of my great, great, great, great grandparents on my mom's side joined the church

1:40.2

I will never fully understand what my Savior Jesus Christ did for me and continues to do for me.

1:48.8

But here's the thing.

1:50.1

While I may not fully get it here on earth, the one thing I can do for my parents, for my ancestors, for my Savior Jesus Christ, and even for Joseph Smith, is show gratitude.

2:06.9

I can learn and be extremely grateful to everyone who has given me a firm, spiritual foundation.

2:16.2

Who has laid your foundation?

2:19.6

So the takeaway of the day in five words or less, be grateful for those before.

2:25.9

Thank you so much for being here today and for coming closer to Christ with me one

2:29.4

minute at a time.
