Today our guest is Trey Anthony and she's a new author to Hay House and her book is called

Black Girl in Love With Yourself and we're going to learn all about Trey today. How you doing Trey?

I'm great. Thank you for having me. Yeah, we're happy to have you and to get started,

can you tell everyone a little bit about your background and what you came from to get started

writing this book? Wow. Well, my background, I actually started out as an actor and then I wasn't

getting that much employment as an actor. I was getting really these a lot of stereotypical

rules and so I started to write and so I wrote my first play which was called The King in My Hair

which became this international success. It became this big commercial hit and that was

adapted into a television show in Canada and that made me the first black woman in Canada to ever

have a TV show on a national network and then from there I started writing more, I started writing

for Huffington Post and the Toronto Star, major newspapers and then I began speaking and I did a

TED talk and from there I just kind of moved into the self-help motivational space and I wrote an

article for Huffington Post called If I Was a Black Girl in Love With Myself and from there I started to

really coach women on around self-love, finding yourself and I started to hold these live events

around just wellness and just really making sure that you know how to put yourself first as a

woman because I think a lot of times we forget that. So that's kind of me in a nutshell and I was born

in England to make your parents and I moved to Canada when I was 12 and now I live in the U.S.

So people always are like I don't know what your accent is, it's a bit of everything,

whatever you hear because some people say you sound really British and then some people say

you sound really Canadian so it's whatever you hear, it's all of that, yes. Exactly and so as you
