Today we have with a Shelley Brander and she's written a brand new book called Move the Needle,

Yarns from an unlikely entrepreneur. This is Shelley's first book. She started a

side hustle as she calls it, opening a local Yarn store and that Yarn store has grown into a big

international business. She has loopslove.com, loopsclub.com and she did a knit stars, which is a

big summit for knitters from around the world. In fact, she traveled around the world to interview

knitters from all over different places. So hello, Shelley. How are you?

Hi, Reed. I'm great. How are you doing today?

I'm doing good. I love your new book. It's exciting. I know we are talking a little before. We did

the interview and we have a lot of friends in common who have read the book and really love it.

And we were even talking about our engineer here at Hayhouse who edits 30, 40 books a year

of the audio books and he was even blown away of how good your book was. So the advance reviews are

phenomenal. Thank you. Yeah, you never really know until you put a book out in the world how it's

going to go over. So it's been really cool to hear all the positive feedback. It's been really,

really cool. Love it. It's affecting people. Yeah, and the book is like a memoir about all

about your life and kind of how you work through starting a new business and your whole family

life that goes into that. It's kind of like a personal growth business book. I don't know,

I don't know which, which audience you were aiming for as you were writing about it, but who

were you thinking about while you were starting to write this book? That's funny. Yeah, it defies

all categories, right? Yeah, so who I was thinking about was all of the people who asked me

all the time. The question I get all the time is how in the world did you turn yarn into,

you know, your path? How did you turn knitting into your livelihood and then a worldwide movement?
