Summary

This week isn't so much an interview. Instead, a long-ranging conversation with an old friend focused around some of the more, uh, volatile aspects of modern masculine culture. The functionality of incel ideology, redpill rhetoric, the rise of victimhood narratives on all sides. In short, we're talking about some heavy stuff. Expect an open dialogue and frank opinions. Traver Boehm knows men. How they think, what’s behind their behavior, and most importantly — their unique challenges in the modern landscape. Traver is the the founder of the UNcivilized Men’s Movement, the fastest growing men’s movement in the world. He is the author of Today I Rise, and Man UNcivilized as well as a two time TEDx speaker, men’s coach and podcaster. Drawing upon an eclectic background ranging from professional bodyguard and Mixed Martial Arts to a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and meditation, Traver counsels men, women, and couples on how to better understand men’s mental health and relationship difficulties. Although he’s not quite sure how to feel about the title, he has been dubbed, “The Man Whisperer” as he has the unique ability to speak to men in a way they can hear and understand. This show has been going on for four or five years. And if you've been with me since the beginning, even if you've dropped in and out here and there, it's such an honor to have you tuning into these episodes. This is one of my favorite things to do. And I really try and curate a number of diverse guests to ensure that you aren't being indated in an echo chamber,

0:41.5

to ensure that there are differences of perspectives, of opinions, of beliefs, all in an effort

0:48.5

to support your betterment as a husband, as a father, as a leader, in whatever capacity that you are

0:56.6

working towards in your life. And that will continue. This year, I think, is going to be a year

1:01.8

of looking at diverse perspectives and having conversations with individuals that I believe have

1:09.5

something to offer, even if they are maybe a little bit more

1:13.1

polarizing, even if some of the conversations are uncomfortable. And so today, my guest is

1:19.6

Traver Bohm. And he has been on the podcast a number of times before. Traver is the founder of

1:25.8

Man Uncivilized and the Uncivilized Nation. And he's written a book. He's been on this

1:32.4

conversation. He's been on the show quite a few times before. And today's going to be a little bit

1:36.5

different because I'm not interviewing Traver. Actually, he and I were having a conversation,

1:42.2

having a conversation or many conversations.

1:44.5

And we were talking about the rise of victimhood and how we've seen victimhood really

1:50.5

become more prominent within our culture, within individuals, within society, within

1:58.1

the systems that we inhabit.

2:00.1

And so this is Traver and I just having a bit of a dialogue discourse, trying to break down

2:07.0

why we think that is.

2:09.3

And there's some interesting research that I share about the evolutionary advantage of

2:14.3

victimhood and how it's embedded within our human psyche and experience to try and utilize

2:20.0

victimhood, maybe not in the best of ways. But we start to get into that. And then we talk about
