So I just returned from a work trip slash vacation over in the UK and Europe, and while I was

away, I listened to a Gear 30 podcast conversation with Luke Kappa and Kristen

Sinat, where they were talking about travel gear and some of their favorite pieces.

And of course, as I listened, I got jealous that I wasn't in on that conversation because I have

some thoughts. It's shocking, I know.

So in this conversation, I sat down with Kristen Sinat and in the first part of our conversation,

we talk a lot about what exactly I was up to on this trip. And we also talk a bit about

kind of a philosophy of travel. and we talk a little bit about

our own personal philosophies around vacationing. Now, granted, these are not completely

settled notions for me, but I have a hunch that some of you will find them interesting,

and you might want to listen along. Maybe it will crystallize some things for yourself.

Then in the second half of this conversation, we get into some of my own favorite pieces of gear

and why. And as we always do with all of our podcasts, we will include time stamps so that you can

jump ahead if you care mostly about

the first half of this conversation and not the second half or vice versa. You know, just follow
