The State Department has been weaponized in the service of the president's

political personal political agenda. So you can only imagine what kind of

impact that would have on the morale of professional foreign service officers.

The larger story here is a corruption of the agencies of government to weaponize

them and to put them at the political service of the president. That was Tony

Blinken speaking on Skull Duggery more than a year ago amid the battle over

impeachment about the impact of President Trump's behavior on morale at the

State Department. This week Blinken was tapped by President-elect Joe Biden as

his nominee to become the next Secretary of State in charge of running the

State Department. He's just one of five top Biden appointees who have been
