Welcome back to the Lantern Rouge Cycling Podcast with Benji Nyston, stage 14 of the Tour de France,

stage 6 of Terena Andriadico and stage 1 to team time travel of the Giro Rosa.

That's the order in which we're going to do this podcast today. We're going to keep it snappy.

Stage 14 of the tour was a pretty interesting stage and we didn't have a firm grasp on what would happen in the stage.

If you were from the yesterday's podcast. It was

194 kilometers from Claremont to Lyon and really the intermediate sprint and the

jostling for the green jersey we that we thought that was going to

dominate the first half of the race there was an intermediate sprint point about 37

kilometers in after a category 4 climb 1.3k is at 6%,

but there was some steeper sections in there.

After that immediate, intermediate sprint,

they went straight into a cat 2, 12k's 5.5%,

pretty even gradient, then roly terrain another categorised climb cat 3 4ks at 5.7%

then a long descent a valley a pretty gradual looks almost like a false flat uphill climb, then another long descent, about

30 K's or so interlion, and then two category four clients.

The good de la Dusheur and the good de la Rous, about one and a half Kays each and four and a half

five and a half percent each so they were both 10 ks and five k's before the finish with the 194 K's to go. So really well placed,

but yeah that was the profile. We didn't know whether a break would go or whether it would be a bunch of

sprint. The betting markets didn't know either and

what happened when the flag dropped Benji? Well I'd like to take us back towards

yesterday's podcast on which we basically try to plan out how the stage would go towards a Green Jersey battle because as you said that was our fought for the first half of the race.
