I want to read to you from Genesis chapter 45.

And this is the account where Joseph makes himself known to his brothers.

But before I read, I think it might be helpful if I explain the background. There may be those here who don't know the Joseph's story.

Joseph was the son of Jacob.

Jacob was not a good father.

He showed favoritism, and he made it clear that Joseph was his favorite son.

He gave him this coat of many colors when we get to heaven and find out just what it looked like.

The only thing worse than giving it was wearing it.

And Joseph wore it, didn't bother him, and you would have thought he'd be too self-conscious to wear it, but he did.

Well, he had a gift of prophetic dreams,

and he told his dreams to his brothers

that one day they would bow down to him. And so he always knew

the day would come when his brothers would bow down to him. Then he, you would have thought

that would stop him. Then he said, had another dream last night. This time the sun and moon and 11 stars were bowing down to me.

You didn't need to be Sigmund Freud to interpret that dream.

They could take it no longer.

And they decided to kill him.

And the only reason they didn't kill him

is that Ishmaelites came along on their way to Egypt.

And so the 11 brothers decided,
