0:45.3	Welcome back. Today is day seven of our 33 days of preparation for total consecration to Jesus through Mary. We are looking in this part of the preparation to detach
0:52.6	ourselves from the world so that we can more fully
0:55.6	give ourselves to Jesus. And we're doing this by looking at sin and then also virtue as
1:00.8	modeled by our Blessed Mother. Today we are looking at the sin of envy. Envy is just a nasty
1:10.7	poison that all too often creeps its way into our most important relationships.
1:20.4	Envy is when I look at someone else's life and I see the good things happening to them as bad for me.
1:30.6	Or when I look into someone's life and I see bad things happening to them as good for me.
1:38.7	Envy poisons love.
1:42.7	Envy is based on the lie that there's only so much good in this world. And that if good things are happening to someone, then that means that it's not going to happen to me. And let me tell you right from the start here that that is a lie. Envy, the idea that there's only so much good in the
2:02.4	world, it has forgotten the fact that our God is infinite, that our God who is good is infinite.
2:11.6	There is no limit to the amount of good. And also, envy forgets that what is good for one person will be good for me,
2:21.0	too. If someone is happy, then that should bring me happiness. If someone has a blessing,
2:27.7	then I also am blessed. Envy, the sin of envy envy will ultimately isolate us.
2:36.1	It will break relationships and it will help.
2:40.2	It will get me to the point where the only person I think about is me.
2:45.2	A person trapped in envy will look out at the world,
2:50.0	they look at all the beautiful, wonderful things happening
