0:45.0	Hello, and welcome back today, eight of this 33-day preparation for total consecration to Jesus through Mary. Yesterday we talked about the sin of envy and how envy is when
0:52.9	we see the blessings in someone else's life as something bad for us
0:58.1	and how it poisons our relationships.
1:01.8	So today we are going to look to the example of our blessed mother and see a virtue that counteracts envy,
1:13.9	something that we can work to cultivate in our lives every time we feel that tendency towards envy or jealousy, and that virtue is gratitude.
1:22.6	Gratitude or thanksgiving is in a very real way simply just seeing the world as it really is.
1:32.3	I want you to remember something. The whole created world, every mountain, valley, river,
1:41.4	cloud, leaf, bug, flower, animal, everything was created as a gift for us from God.
1:51.0	It was all this beautiful gift so that we might just experience beauty and see his
1:58.3	fingerprint on everything. Everything that we are is also a gift from God.
2:05.6	Each of us are created with loving attention to detail. Not only the way we look, but our
2:12.4	personality, the way that we respond to the world around us, this is all unique, and it is all specially crafted
2:20.7	by God. We have so much to be thankful for. Every moment of our lives is a miracle to be thankful for.
2:31.5	The sin of envy gets us trapped in thinking about only certain things, thinking about
2:38.0	what we have or what we do not have, comparing ourselves to other people and feeling that we are
2:43.8	lacking. And it blinds us to all of the wonderful things that we have to be thankful for.
2:51.7	Now, I want to remind you for one specific thing that we all have to be thankful for,
