| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the 33-day preparation for total consecration to Jesus through Mary, right here on the Catholic Sprouts podcast. |
| 0:18.9 | Before we begin, let's pray. |
| 0:22.4 | In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, amen. |
| 0:26.9 | Mary, Mother of Jesus, be a mother to us now, and bring us to your son. |
| 0:34.3 | Amen. |
| 0:46.1 | Welcome back. Today is day 24 of the 33-day preparation for total consecration to Jesus through Mary. In this section, we were talking about Mary in titles and allowing them to help |
| 0:53.1 | us understand Mary better, both who she is and the role that she plays in bringing us to Jesus. |
| 1:00.6 | Today we're going to talk about the title, Mother of Sorrows. Now, Mother of Sorrows is admittedly not one of my favorite titles for Mary. I like things that are a little |

| 1:51.2 | So Mary and her suffering is a mark of the truth and depth of her love. It's very beautiful to reflect upon the fact that Mary's heart, that in this heart, |
| 1:59.0 | there was a unity of natural and supernatural love. |
| 2:05.2 | And it was because the object of her love was Jesus, who was both human and divine. |
| 2:14.5 | So when she loved her son, she loved him like any other mother. She loved him perfectly |
| 2:21.1 | like any other mother, but she also loved him like God. So in her heart was this unity of |
| 2:30.8 | natural and supernatural love. |
| 2:40.4 | And when Jesus died on the cross, that love continued, |
| 2:44.9 | and she loved him so perfectly that in that moment, |
| 2:47.7 | she suffered more than we can understand. |
| 2:53.6 | Some saints have talked about how if we could even, for a second, experience the way that Mary suffered when Jesus died on the cross, it would kill us. Because she loved so |
