Welcome back to this 33-day preparation for consecration to Jesus through Mary.

Here on the Catholic Sprods podcast, we are in day 21. We are in section three, where we are talking about Mary by a couple of her titles to understand

her better the work she does and how she desires to bring us to Jesus.

So today we are going to talk about the oldest title that Mary has been given and something

that has played a big role in one of the biggest controversies our faith

has ever seen. Now this title is Mother of God or Theotokas, which means literally it's

Greek for God-bearer, someone that bore God or brought God to the world.

Now, this title is so important because through this title, Mother of God, we understand Jesus.

Now, think about this for a moment.

Think about how important understanding Mary is for understanding Jesus. Now, think about this for a moment. Think about how important understanding Mary is for

understanding Jesus. If you have a family that you are close with, you know that just knowing

the friend that's your age, perhaps, like, that's good, that's great. But when we get to that's great but when we know get to know their

family members we oftentimes get to know that person even better and this is particularly

true for a child and their mother there's something about that relationship that is so special

and that helps us come to know the child better.

And this is particularly true for Jesus Christ.
