| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the 33-day preparation for total consecration to Jesus through Mary, right here on the Catholic Sprouts podcast. |
| 0:18.9 | Before we begin, let's pray. |
| 0:22.4 | In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, amen. |
| 0:26.9 | Mary, Mother of Jesus, be a mother to us now, and bring us to your son. |
| 0:34.3 | Amen. |
| 0:45.9 | Welcome to Day two of this total consecration to Jesus through Mary. Now remember, we are following St. Louis de Martinford's model, where we spent 12 days trying to detach ourselves |
| 0:52.7 | from this world by investigating sin. So yesterday we talked about |
| 0:57.7 | the sin from which all other sins come, the sin of pride. And pride, how it falsely tells us that we |
| 1:06.8 | don't need God when in reality, of course we need God. We can do nothing without him. |

| 1:36.4 | As we go through all of these virtues, the answers to sin, |
| 1:40.7 | we're going to realize that every single virtue was perfectly lived out by Mary. Mary, of course, |
| 1:49.1 | was protected from sin. She lived a sinless life. And because of this, she was able to totally give |
| 1:56.8 | herself to God and be completely filled up with His grace. God dwelt in her perfectly. |
| 2:07.1 | Therefore, she lived in a way that we can draw so much inspiration from. Every word that she says |
| 2:14.6 | in the Bible that is recorded speaks to us of how we can be happy, |
| 2:20.4 | how we can be virtuous, how we can escape sin. So we are going to start today by looking at |
| 2:27.7 | the enunciation. So as you remember, the enunciation happened. Mary was a poor girl living in Nazareth. |
| 2:36.8 | She was betrothed, but not yet married to Joseph when an angel appeared to her and gave her some shocking news that she had been chosen to give birth to the long-awaited Messiah. For hundreds of years, the Jews had been |
| 2:55.0 | waiting and waiting for the Messiah to come. Mary knew all about this, and she would be the |
