Hey, thank you for joining me again for part two of my discussion with Pete Olinger of the Days

of Noah podcast, where we discuss hell, eternal torment or annihilation.

Christ is the only one that was ever good enough to be the propitiation, to be the satisfactory

sacrifice. Therefore, God was able to raise him up from the

dead as evidence that we have been given eternal life. So it's all in the matter of choice.

Yeah, those are excellent verses for the case for eternal conscious torment. I don't think you can

get around at least the inductive example here. You can't have

smoke that rises forever and ever from someone's torment. There would be an end to that

if there was annihilation.

And just in the last week or so, Scott, of doing a cursory look at this topic, as it's been, again, such a hot topic because of Kirk Cameron, I really do see, I understand the verses that the Anilist says,

point to that position, but they don't come right out and say, you know, and after so long a

suffering, when God sees fit, it ends, you're gone. There's nothing that says that. What you have to do is look at words like the soul that sins dies and the end of them is death and destruction for the wicked.

And you have to use those kinds of verbiage and then go, okay, what is what is meant by

to destroy or what is death? Well, death is, you're gone. And so they kind of define those

terms that way. And I get it. There's actually a fair case for some of that position. But if scripture is going to interpret scripture, and I think that's a sound hermeneutical principle, we use the Bible to interpret the Bible.

So when we have gray areas, we use the clear areas to interpret the gray areas. So what Scott just read is a

clear area. There's no getting around that this is a continuous torment for those that are in this
