My name's Tim, I'm an alcoholic.

Thank you very much for having me here. I was, I'm on my way to Galveston. And I don't ask why I'm coming via two Tucson to go to Galveston, but that's what's happening.

I don't know why I'm here, but I am here, so I'm making the most of it, which is why I was talking to Rob about what we could do to carry the message.

There's a story in the big book of Alcoholics Anonymous, where this woman grabs a drunk off the street who's just having a horrible time

and tells him her story about getting sober and alcoholics anonymous.

And a friend of mine commented, she must have been pretty thirsty that day

to realize that she needed to carry the message to stay alive.

So maybe what is going on here is I need to be carrying the message

so that I stay alive today.

And if you benefit from me carrying a message,

that's great, but I'll stay sober.

And that's good enough for me.

We are going to go through the steps, but I need to talk a little bit

just about who I am and how I got here so that you've got some kind of context for this.
