Today I'm chatting to Tom Walker.

Writing for me is me going through the actual emotions of what is happening to my friends or my family or to me. It's like it is my therapy.

That's kind of why I started writing to be honest. I never ever thought I would end up being a singer-songwriter. I always wanted to be a guitarist in a band. I never wanted to sing ever.

Tom is the writer and voice behind songs like The Epic, Leave a Light On.

And given how much I adore music, I loved getting to talk to him about how despite the music industry wanting to measure success in numbers,

he prefers to measure it by his own inner satisfaction. Definitely some big lessons there that we can all learn about seeking internal rather than external validation.
