Tom versus the JLA, number 252, or yeah, I'm into fire now.

Welcome back for Justice League of America, number 252 July, 1986 issue entitled Arrival,

written by Jerry Connoe, penciled by Luke MacDonald, inked by Bill Ray,

lettered by Albert de Guzman, colored by Gene D DeAngelo, edited by Andrew Helfer with a cover by

Luke MacDonald. And this issue is a real Luke MacDonald art showcase, I have to say. Lots of big panels,

lots of really cool fight stuff going on, a really beautifully drawn book.

And this is the hardest part of doing this show is when it's really great art,

and I can't explain it to you because of my caveman-like vocab for art.

But I'll try and point out some of the highlights as we go through.

We open this issue in Maine of all places, northeastern United States.

We're a piece of the Justice League satellite.

Remember, last issue, Despero, who he's a bit of a badass now,

is riding the satellite down to Earth so we can kill the Justice League because he hates them.

Oh, we get a nice full page spread of a chunk of the satellite landing in Maine.

We then see a local hunter with his dog out and about.

Note about the hunter.

He has his pants tucked into his boots, meaning he's obviously afraid of ticks.

And I would be too.

I hate ticks.

Had one once.

Didn't like it.

He also has a goddamn headband on, but not like a sweatband, but like a piece of cloth tied
