Welcome back for Justice League of America number 253 the August,

We opened this issue, the Justice League, well, at least five of the leagueers.

He got an elongated man, gypsy, Martian Manhunter, vibe and steel, having just come

into sort of a demonized Gotham, Despero, has ditched the chess motif and has picked up screaming and fire is his new

thing and turning people into demons. He's got all of Gotham under a force field and he's turning

people into demons. And this is horrifying the league. You know, we get some side panel shots.

They're sweating. It's hot. It's steamy in there. I mean, the humidity's got to be a killer. It's not just the flames when Despero makes the city hot. He turns up the humidity as well. I mean, Vibe is sweating like a son of a bitch. And Martian Manor's got to be freaked out because his weakness is fire. They also have to be freaked out because Vixen and Batman are hung up on a wall sort of crucifix style. Their outfits are in tatters as are Desperos, but this is no time to fix it on that. We got demons, we got snakes, we got human heads on pyres, we got flames everywhere. Martian Manor, he's a tough guy, though.

He says that. Despero, you know, probably a little louder than that.

There's flames and screaming going on around him.

Now, Despero, I told you last issue, he's picked up flames as his new motif.

He's also picked up a real attitude of screaming about himself constantly.

He yells about the fact that he's no longer the weakling that the Justice League has beaten before

and that he went through the...

The flames of Faitar and that he has new power and that he can change energy in a matter and matter and energy,

and that he is like a god now. And to prove it, he turns a skyscraper into a dragon

...
