Tom versus the JLA number 251 or Be Thankful Batman didn't sock you in the stomach.

Welcome back for Justice League of America, number 251, the June 1986 issue entitled

Hunters and Prey, written by Jerry Conway, penciled by Luke MacDonald, inked by Bill Ray,

colored by Gene D'Angelo, lettered by Albert de Guzman, edited by Andrew Hilfer,

with a cover by Luke McDonald and Dick Giordano. And I gotta say, Luke McDonald's aren't

fantastic in this issue. He does a great Batman. We opened this issue with Despero.

And that's why I'm going to say it. I'm going to say Despero. You might say Despero in your own circle of friends, but this is how I'm rolling why I'm going to say it. I'm going to say despero. You might say despairo in your own circle of friends, but this is how I'm rolling. I'm going despero. He's on his way to kill the Justice League. He hates the Justice League. And we've had this subplot sort of burning in the background of the issues for probably the last six or seven issues. He's on his way. He's intent on destroying the league.

And it's not enough just for the narration to tell us that he's intent.

He's in his ship.

He's flying through space.

There's a giant sort of space amoeba, this lovely, beautiful creature that's peaceful and simple

and wouldn't hurt anyone.

Well, Despero flies his ship right through the center of that space amoeba, killing it.

Why?

Because it was between him and the Justice League.

He means business.

Make no mistake.

He will hit you with a car if you are on the street between him and the Justice League.

We then cut to Justice League headquarters where Batman is taken over, serve the Aquaman role of trying to teach the the Justice League. We then cut to Justice League headquarters where Batman is taken over,

serve the Aquaman role of trying to teach

the new Justice League how to be heroes.

And it becomes readily apparent
