Tom versus the Flash Showcase number 14, or if you only have an hour to take over the earth, I'd pick up the pace a little bit.

Welcome to Tom versus the Flash showcase number 14, the June 158 issue. Sporting a cover by Carmen Amphantino and Joe Giella.

Our first story is Giants of the Time World, written by Robert Cannigar.

We open this issue with, of course, Barry and Iris on a date.

Iris harassing Barry because they need to get to parties spelled with a D because it gets crowded after one.

They eventually kid in.

We're privy to Iris's thoughts as she complains about Barry being so slow.

Best part of this, you know, not again with the Iris complaining.

It's the fact that it's one of those restaurants that has famous people's pictures on the wall. And right over their table is the Flash, a signed picture of the Flash.

Now, this makes me think of how weird it is that the Flash would go to a restaurant by himself to

get a meal. Does the Flash sit down for a steak? You know, does he have an 8.5 by 11 glossy of himself

at all times? How big if an ego does Barry have? It's surprising. Well, a waitress walks by,

spilling a glass of water, Barry breaks out some speed tricks, grabbing the glass, flipping around,

catching the water, and putting it on the tray before she even notices it's quite gone. Quite an amazing moment.

And Iris is letting Barry know about what's going on in her career.

She's got an assignment to snap some photos, not of the super fast rocket ship that's being

tested, but of the sunset from a jet.

And it's nice that she mentions what she's not doing,

even though we have no reason to know it.

I'm sure it ties in later.

But I can't help but realize what a strange comment that would be.
