Welcome back for the Flash number 105, the March 1959 issue. That's right. The Flash finally earns its own title, taking its numbering from the Golden Age title featuring the Golden Age Flash.

Apparently the showcase issue sold well enough that he was able to get his old title back.

archaeologist by the name of John Ains, sort of a do-it-yourself type guy.

He's got his backpack shovel wandering the countryside. As recently he's found evidence of early

man living near Central City when all of a sudden he gets struck with a strange feeling

that he should dig in a very specific spot. Being one of those archaeologists without a lot of technology, he breaks out his

shovel and he just starts digging into the side of a hill, digging until he finds a

mysterious cavern that he breaks into that has a metal floor and a giant, some sort of

giant man-looking creature inside a tube. But he's still compelled

to go up to it because it seems that the man inside the tube is blasting him with some sort of gun,

a mind-control gun, delivering telepathic commands. This giant man inside the tube orders Mr. Haines

to open it up. It cracks open, and the man is free.

We find out that this being is made of metal, and his name is Catmos, and he's from an ancient

civilization from eight million years ago that ruled the earth. He's iron-based, humans are

carbon-based.

And now that he's free to wander around,
