Tom versus the Flash number 273 or let's get narcotics crazy.

Welcome back for the Flash number 273, the May 1979 issue featuring a cover pencil by

Ross Andrew inked by Dick Giordano with the issue being edited by Ross Andrew.

Our story in this issue is Harvest of Hate, such a bittersweet title,

written by Carrie Bates Pencil by Alex Savick, inked by Frank Chiaramonte, lettered by Ben Oda,

colored by Gene D'Angelo. Last issue, The Flash, of course, was trapped by an attractive

young lady who seems to have some sort of mind control powers. He's forced to

run through a wall, knocking himself out. And that's where we are. The Flash laid out on the

other side of a broken wall had cradled in the lap of young Melanie, her boasting about her ability

to control his mind. In fact, they've become mindmates. That counts as cheating, Barry. Trust

me, Iris will not be happy if she finds out

that you've mind-maided with somebody else. The flash is, of course, understandably confused.

He's groggy. He's just run through a wall. He sees the girl sort of like hovering above him.

He's trying to piece together what happens. Of course, we get a flashback. He was chasing down

that Detective Curtis from the Central City Police police who he thinks is involved in the heroin

ring of a sudden his mind was compelled to turn he ran in and the smelling girl and here we are

and now he's hearing her say stuff about mind control this isn't good he looks up again this time

not the face of a beautiful girl but of a a barking dog, a rage-filled guard dog.

So the wall he ran through must have been the walls of someplace important if they have guard dogs.

And now he's starting to wake up finally. He sees a guard running towards him yelling at him to stay still up.

His are vicious attack dogs. The dogs have already started attacking.

One of them has got the flash by the arm, the other by the foot, and they're biting him and shaking him. Flash, of course, has a plan to get out. Starts vibrating. Dogs let go. He takes off running through the wall. The dogs are there. The wall is there. So the girl must have been real as well. He's running around. He looks, it's the grounds of
